2026 Newsletter

July 2026 | Halfway Through the Year, Is Your Smile Keeping Up?

Can you believe it? We're officially halfway through 2026!

If your New Year's resolution was to eat healthier, exercise more, or finally floss every day... don't worry, you're not alone.

There's still plenty of time to finish the year strong—and that includes taking care of your smile!

Think of July as your Smile Checkpoint. A quick cleaning and exam now can help keep little problems from turning into big ones later.

July Fun Days

National Ice Cream Day – July 20

Nothing says summer like a scoop (or three) of your favorite ice cream!

Just remember:

  • Enjoy your treats.
  • Drink some water afterward.
  • If ice cream makes your teeth hurt, don't ignore it! Tooth sensitivity is often treatable.

International Kissing Day – July 6

Fresh breath + healthy gums = confidence.

A professional cleaning removes plaque and tartar that brushing alone can't reach, helping keep your breath fresher and your smile healthier.

National Sunglasses Day (Celebrated at the End of June... But We're Keeping the Summer Vibes Going!)

Protect your eyes.
Protect your skin.
And don't forget to protect your smile!

Healthy teeth never go out of style.

Did You Know?

  • Your smile is as unique as your fingerprint.
  • Plaque begins forming just a few hours after brushing. (Yep...it works fast!)
  • Smiling is contagious. Studies suggest people are much more likely to smile back when someone smiles at them.

So go ahead...
Smile at someone today.

Mid-Year Smile Reset

Here's your July checklist:

☐ Had your dental cleaning this year?

☐ Still putting off that filling?

☐ Thinking about whitening?

☐ Missing a tooth and curious about implants?

☐ Wondering how to maximize your insurance benefits before the year ends?

If you checked "not yet" to any of these—we're here to help!

Remember, we don't create treatment plans based on insurance. We create personalized treatment plans based on what's best for your long-term oral health. Then we work hard to maximize your insurance benefits to help you receive the care you need.

Smile of the Month Challenge

This month, challenge yourself to:

  •  Brush twice a day
  •  Floss once a day
  •  Drink more water
  •  Smile more often

It's amazing how small daily habits can make a big difference!

Thank You!

Thank you for trusting Smile Savers Dentistry with your family's dental care. We truly appreciate being part of your health journey and look forward to seeing your smiling faces soon.

Have a fun, safe, and sunshine-filled July!

June 2026 | Oral Health: A Window to Your Overall Well-Being

Your oral health is connected to much more than just your teeth and gums. In fact, research shows that more than 50 systemic diseases and health conditions may have links to oral health. The condition of your mouth can provide important clues about your overall wellness, and poor oral hygiene can contribute to inflammation and infection throughout the body.

How Poor Oral Health Affects the Body

When harmful bacteria build up in the mouth, they can lead to gum disease, tooth decay, and chronic inflammation. If left untreated, these bacteria may enter the bloodstream and travel to other areas of the body, potentially affecting major organs and body systems.

Poor oral health has been associated with:

  • Heart disease
  • Stroke
  • Diabetes
  • Alzheimer’s disease and dementia
  • Respiratory infections
  • Pregnancy complications
  • Osteoporosis
  • Kidney disease
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Certain cancers

The Inflammation Connection

One of the biggest links between oral health and overall health is inflammation. Gum disease causes chronic inflammation in the mouth, and long-term inflammation can weaken the immune system and contribute to disease progression throughout the body.

Healthy gums help reduce harmful bacteria and inflammation, supporting better overall health.

Oral Health and Daily Well-Being

Bad oral health can also affect your quality of life in many ways:

  • Difficulty eating or chewing
  • Chronic pain or tooth sensitivity
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Bad breath
  • Low self-confidence
  • Increased stress and anxiety
  • Missed work or school due to dental pain

A healthy smile can improve comfort, confidence, nutrition, and emotional well-being.

Medications and Oral Health

Many medications can also impact oral health by causing dry mouth, gum changes, or increased risk of cavities. Reduced saliva flow makes it easier for bacteria to grow and can lead to tooth decay and oral infections.

That is why regular dental visits are especially important for patients taking long-term medications.

Prevention Is Powerful

The good news is that many oral health problems are preventable. Maintaining good oral hygiene and scheduling regular dental checkups can help protect both your smile and your overall health.

Simple healthy habits include:

  • Brushing twice daily
  • Flossing every day
  • Drinking plenty of water
  • Eating a balanced diet
  • Avoiding tobacco products
  • Visiting your dentist regularly

At Smile Savers Dentistry, we believe oral health is an important part of whole-body wellness. Taking care of your smile today can help support a healthier future for your entire body.

Healthy mouth. Healthy body. Healthy life.

May 2026 | Sunshine, Smiles & A Few Dental Dad Jokes

May has officially arrived. The flowers are blooming, allergies are attacking, and suddenly everyone remembers they promised themselves they’d “finally schedule the dentist this year.”

At Smile Savers Dentistry, May is one of our favorite months because it feels like a fresh start. People start thinking about vacations, weddings, graduations, family photos… and yes… smiling a little bigger.

After all:
You never realize how much your smile matters until you avoid showing it in pictures.

Tooth Truth of the Month

Your teeth are like houseplants.

Ignore them long enough…
things start dying.

The good news?
Unlike plants, your teeth can’t judge you for forgetting to floss yesterday.

Dental Joke Break

What did the tooth say to the dentist?

"You crack me up."

And our personal favorite:

Why did the smartphone go to the dentist?

Because it lost all its contacts.

(We promise our dentistry is better than our comedy.)

A Special Thank You & Happy Retirement

Many of you already know that Dr. Stewart has officially retired after many years of caring for patients and serving the community.

We are incredibly grateful for the trust, kindness, and relationships he built over the years. We wish him a happy, relaxing, well-deserved retirement filled with laughter, travel, and zero dental emergencies.

Dr. Stewart has passed the reins into the caring hands of Dr. Anuja, who is excited to continue providing comprehensive, compassionate, and modern dental care to all of our patients.

While faces may change, the mission stays the same:

Saving one smile at a time

May Smile Reminder

Summer is closer than your toothbrush thinks.

This is the perfect time to:

  • Refresh your cleaning
  • Brighten your smile
  • Fix teeth you’ve been “waiting on”
  • Start Invisalign before summer events
  • Replace old dental work before it becomes an emergency
  • Tiny problems in May have a funny way of becoming expensive problems by August.
  • Your future self would like to avoid that plot twist.

Final Thought

A healthy smile isn’t about looking perfect.

It’s about:

  • Confidence
  • Comfort
  • Chewing without regret
  • Laughing without covering your mouth
  • Feeling like yourself again

And honestly…
that never goes out of style.

We appreciate you trusting our team with your health, your confidence, and your family.

Wishing you a beautiful month of May filled with health, happiness, and lots of reasons to smile.

Warmly,
The Smile Savers Dentistry Team

April 2026 | A Word From Dr. Anuja Patel

This April, while you’re refreshing your home and routine, don’t forget your smile—it deserves a reset too

If you’ve noticed bleeding gums, stains that won’t budge, or it’s been over 6 months since your last visit… your smile might be asking for a little attention.

At Smile Savers Dentistry, we go beyond a basic cleaning. Our laser-assisted hygiene helps create a healthier environment for your gums and teeth—because your oral health is directly connected to your overall health.

Quick reminder: A healthy mouth supports heart health, balanced blood sugar, and reduced inflammation.

Smile Upgrade Season

Spring is one of the most popular times to start:
• Invisalign / clear aligners
• Whitening treatments
• Smile makeovers

Why? Because by summer… your results are already showing

At our office, we don’t chase “fake perfect.”
We create
a refined version of you—natural, balanced, confident.

April Smile Tip (Simple but Powerful)

Brush like you’re detailing a luxury car, not scrubbing a frying pan.

  • Soft pressure
  • Slow circles
  • Don’t rush (2 full minutes)
  • Electric toothbrush = a game changer

Fun Fact (You’ll Remember This One)

Your enamel is the hardest substance in your body—stronger than bone.

…and yet, it can still lose to:
• Soda
• Stress grinding
• Skipping checkups

Even superheroes need maintenance

March 2026 | Women’s Day Special: Hormones & Your Smile

Dear Smile Savers Family,

March is Women’s Day month, and we’re highlighting something many women don’t realize: your hormones and your gum health are closely connected.

Estrogen and progesterone influence how your gums respond to plaque and inflammation. That means during certain life stages, your gums may react more strongly even if your brushing habits have not changed.

Here’s where it shows up:

Puberty: Increased swelling and bleeding
Pregnancy: Pregnancy gingivitis is very common
Menstrual cycle: Some women notice bleeding right before their period
Birth control or hormone therapy: Can increase gum sensitivity
Perimenopause & menopause: Dry mouth, higher cavity risk, gum recession

Fun fact: Gum tissue has estrogen receptors. Your smile literally listens to your hormones.

What NOT to Do During Hormonal Changes

When gums feel tender or bleed easily, many patients unintentionally make things worse. Avoid:

• Brushing aggressively because you see bleeding
• Skipping flossing due to sensitivity
• Ignoring dry mouth
• Postponing cleanings during pregnancy
• Increasing sugary snacks during cravings without extra hygiene

Bleeding is not a sign to stop brushing. It is a sign your gums need attention.

Why We Ask About Pregnancy & Hormones

When we ask about pregnancy, birth control, or hormone supplements, we are customizing your care. Hormonal information helps us anticipate inflammation, adjust maintenance schedules, and protect your bone and gum health long term.

At Smile Savers Dentistry, we also use laser therapy as an adjunct to routine cleanings. This provides an additional layer of bacterial reduction and gum stimulation to help maintain healthier tissue, especially during times of hormonal change.

Women carry so much. Your health should not be one more thing ignored.

If you have noticed bleeding, dryness, or gum sensitivity, schedule your preventive visit. Let us personalize your care and keep your smile strong through every stage of life.

Call us today to reserve your appointment.

Strong women deserve strong, healthy smiles.

With appreciation,
Smile Savers Dentistry

February 2026 | Gum Disease Awareness Month

Because a Beautiful Smile Starts Below the Surface

February celebrates love, beauty, and connection. While we focus on whitening, veneers, and radiant smiles, there’s something even more essential working quietly behind the scenes… healthy gums.

Your gums frame your smile. When they’re inflamed or receding, even the most beautiful teeth can lose their elegance.

Romance Begins with Confidence

Gum disease itself isn’t contagious, but the bacteria responsible can be transferred through saliva, including kissing. It’s subtle, rarely discussed, and surprisingly common among couples.

Luxury is peace of mind, and confidence starts with knowing your smile is truly healthy.

Subtle Signs Your Gums May Need Attention

• Bleeding during brushing or flossing
• Redness or puffiness along the gumline
• Persistent bad breath
• Gums that appear shorter or uneven
• Sensitivity or slight tooth movement

These early signs are often painless, which is why they’re easy to overlook.

Advanced, Gentle Care with Remarkable Results

At Smile Savers Dentistry, we offer LANAP® laser periodontal therapy, an advanced, minimally invasive treatment designed to eliminate harmful bacteria while stimulating natural healing and bone regeneration.

No cutting. No stitches. Just precision care focused on preserving the natural beauty of your smile.

An Investment in Your Smile and Your Health

Healthy gums provide the foundation for cosmetic dentistry, long-term dental stability, and overall wellness. Treating gum disease early protects not only your smile’s appearance, but its longevity.

This Valentine’s Season, Choose Elevated Care

If you value comfort, discretion, and exceptional results, a gum health evaluation is the first step.

Schedule your personalized consultation at Smile Savers Dentistry.
Because timeless smiles are built on healthy foundations.

January 2026 | Let’s Start the Year With a Strong Smile

New year, fresh calendar, same great smile potential. January is that magical reset button where gym memberships glow with hope, planners are still empty, and your teeth are quietly asking, “So… are we doing this or not?”

At Smile Savers Dentistry, we love January because it’s all about taking control. Not just of your goals, but of your smile, your dental health, and a little self-care that actually sticks.

New Year, New Habits (Your Teeth Are Voting Yes)

If your dental cleanings slipped into “I’ll do it later” mode last year, January is your comeback month. Regular cleanings help prevent cavities, gum disease, bad breath, and surprise dental drama. Think of it as spring cleaning… just earlier and with fewer dust bunnies.

And let’s talk candy
We get it. The holidays brought cookies, chocolates, caramels, and that one candy bowl that never seemed to empty. January is a great time to
cut back on sugar, drink more water, and give your enamel a well-deserved break.

Small changes now mean fewer problems later. Your future self will thank you… possibly with a very confident smile.

Self-Care Isn’t Selfish (It’s Smart)

Putting off dental work is easy. Life gets busy. But January is the perfect time to tackle what you’ve been avoiding, whether it’s:

  • That overdue cleaning
  • A filling you’ve been “monitoring” for a while
  • Gum discomfort
  • Cosmetic concerns you’ve always wanted to improve

Taking care of your smile is part of taking care of you. Healthy teeth support overall health, confidence, and comfort. That’s self-care with real benefits.

Let’s Get You on the Schedule

Start 2026 strong. Call us today to:

  • Book your cleaning
  • Schedule an exam
  • Finally take care of that dental work you’ve been postponing

Your smile deserves a spot on your to-do list.

Weird & Wonderful Tooth Facts to Start the Year

  • Your teeth are the only part of your body that can’t heal themselves. They need teamwork. That’s where we come in.
  • Tooth enamel is the hardest substance in the human body, stronger than bone.
  • The average person spends 38.5 days brushing their teeth over a lifetime. Time well spent.
  • No two smiles are the same. Even identical twins have different teeth.

Here’s to a healthier, happier, and brighter 2026.
We can’t wait to see your smile this year!

2025 Newsletter

December 2025 | December Newsletter: Wrapping the Year with a Bow (and a Bright Smile!)

As the year tiptoes toward its grand finale, we’ve been reminiscing about the whirlwind of smiles, stories, and wonderfully chaotic “open wide” moments we’ve shared together. What a year it has been!

We met incredible patients and their families, each with their own adventures, quirks, and charm. From preschoolers showing off their wiggly teeth like prized trophies, to adults finally choosing the smile they’ve always dreamed of, our office has been a joyful parade of people we absolutely treasure. Being part of your lives — helping you stay healthy and sending you out into the world grinning confidently — has been the highlight of our year.

There’s something quietly magical about this work. Every polished molar, every aligned tooth, every high-five after a great check-up adds up to a ripple of positivity out in the world. And you’ve let us be part of that ripple. For that, our hearts feel as full as a holiday stocking stuffed with candy canes (sugar-free, of course… mostly).

A Few Tooth-Sized Holiday Fun Facts to Sleigh the Season:

• Reindeer teeth never stop growing. Imagine the floss bill.
• In the Middle Ages, people thought you could cure a toothache by kissing a donkey. Please do not try this. We have better options.
• The average person’s teeth are as unique as snowflakes. No two sets are the same, which means your smile is literally one-of-a-kind seasonal magic.
• Santa’s favorite dental advice? “Floss the night before Christmas.”

• The average person smiles 20 times a day… but during the holidays, that basically doubles because cookies.
• Your teeth are the strongest natural substance in your body — so treat them like VIPs and not like nutcrackers.

As we clink our imaginary hot-cocoa mugs together, here’s to another wonderful year behind us and an even brighter one ahead. Thank you for trusting us with your smiles, your health, and your stories. You make our days brighter than a string of holiday lights on turbo mode.

From all of us at Smile Savers Dentistry:
Happy Holidays, Happy Smiles, and cheers to a sparkling New Year!

Stay warm, stay joyful, and keep those teeth twinkling.

November 2025 | Happy Thanksgiving from Smile Savers Dentistry!

This Thanksgiving, let’s take a moment to give thanks for our oral health — it lets us laugh, talk, and savor every bite of the season’s best dishes.

Keep the Feast Off Your Teeth!

Before you dive into that pumpkin pie, here are a few fun ways to keep your smile happy and healthy:

  • Rinse with water after your meal to wash away sugars.
  • Snack on apples, celery, or carrots — nature’s toothbrushes!
  • Say yes to cheese — it helps protect enamel.
  • And of course, don’t forget to brush before that post-dinner nap!

Let’s be grateful for our ability to chew, smile, and enjoy life — and take good care of those pearly whites that make it possible.

August 2025 | A Word From Dr. Anuja Patel

Hello, Smile Savers Family!

August is all about healthy gums, aligned teeth, and fresh smiles! This month, we're spotlighting how straight teeth and strong gums go hand in hand — and we’ve got a sweet deal to help keep your mouth fresh and healthy too!

August 11 is National Align Your Teeth Day!

Straight teeth do more than boost your confidence — they also improve your gum health! When teeth are properly aligned:

  • It’s easier to brush and floss effectively
  • There’s less room for plaque to hide
  • It reduces your risk of gum disease and bone loss

Thinking about aligners or braces? Let us assess your smile — this is the perfect time to get started!

Gums Need Love Too!

Your gums are the unsung heroes of your oral health. Here are 4 quick tips to keep them strong:

  • Brush gently along the gumline
  • Floss daily (yes, really!)
  • Don’t skip your dental cleanings
  • Watch for bleeding, puffiness, or soreness

Healthy gums = a longer-lasting, more beautiful smile.

Let’s Keep That Smile Going

Book yours today and let’s make this the month your smile gets stronger, fresher, and healthier!

Smiles always,
Your Smile Savers Dentistry Team

Where healthy smiles are always in season!

July 2025 | Freedom to Smile!

Hello Smile Savers Family!

July is all about freedom, fireworks, and fantastic smiles! While you're out soaking in the sun, grilling with friends, or enjoying those red, white, and blue popsicles (just be careful with those sugary treats!), don’t forget — your smile deserves to shine just as bright as the fireworks in the sky.

This month, we’re celebrating the freedom to smile confidently, and we’re here to help you keep your grin healthy, happy, and dazzling all summer long.

Dental Fun Facts to Make You Smile:

1. Your tooth is the only part of your body that can’t heal itself.
That’s right! Enamel doesn’t regenerate — another reason why regular dental checkups matter.

2. The average person spends 38.5 days brushing their teeth during their lifetime.
Make every second count! Good brushing = strong, beautiful smiles.

3. Like fingerprints, every person’s tongue print is unique.
Yep, you're one-of-a-kind... even down to your taste buds!

4. Mosquitoes have 47 teeth.
Okay… they're not really teeth, but tiny cutting edges on their mouths. Still, we’d rather work on human smiles!

July Smile Tips:

  • Stay Hydrated: Not just great for your body, but also helps rinse away bacteria in your mouth.
  • Skip the Sticky Stuff: Gummy candies and caramel can linger on teeth. Opt for fresh fruits instead.
  • Summer Whitening Boost? Ask us about in-office whitening or take-home kits if you're ready for a brighter smile!

Whether you’re heading to a BBQ, the beach, or just enjoying the AC at home, don’t forget: confidence starts with a healthy smile.

If it’s been a while since your last visit, we’d love to see you! We have limited hygiene appointments left for July and August so don't hesitate to call— your future smile will thank you.

Until next time,
Keep smiling and stay cool,
– Your
