Invisalign™ is a teeth alignment system using transparent, removable, and comfortable aligners to straighten and correctly position your teeth. The benefit of being completely transparent and nearly invisible (hence the name), brings about the happy situation wherein while your new smile will be noticed by everyone around you, your aligners won’t be. Also, because Invisalign™ is able to be removed (unlike traditional braces, of course), it won’t interrupt your regular eating and oral hygiene habits. The aligners are only removed to eat, drink, brush and floss, however. They’re also very comfortable compared with traditional braces, and cause only very little irritation while you’re going through treatment.

The aligners are made using 3-D computer generated imaging. This type of modeling is very effective in creating beautiful, natural smiles. Using this process, you also get the amazingly unique experience of watching how your teeth and smile will change over the course of the treatment. Invisalign™ not only straightens your teeth much faster, but also requires much fewer office visits than metal braces. Invisalign™ aligners gradually, and gently move your teeth, little by little, and are switched out every couple of weeks for the next set, until the treatment is complete, and the final position is achieved. This whole procedure is made even easier, here at Dr. Stewart’s office, with the use of an iTero Element Intraoral Scanner. It’s a state-of-the-art digital scanning technology, which allows us to take extremely accurate digital, three-dimensional images of your teeth. Taking these 3-D scans eliminates the need for older, messier methods of dental modeling (dental impressions), which are less accurate anyway.
