Invisalign Dentist Columbia MD

In the past, those of us who wanted a beautiful, straight, well-aligned smile had to also go through the hassle, inconvenience, and aesthetically challenged route of traditional metal braces. At Smile Savers Dentistry, we are very happy to offer a clearly better option: Invisalign™ in  Columbia, MD

Achieving that beautiful, straight smile you’ve always wanted can now be a snap, but aesthetics aren’t the only benefit of straighter teeth. Having properly aligned teeth also helps to alleviate other problems that may be caused by having an improper bite. For instance; some speech troubles, difficulty in chewing, jaw issues, and the increase of wear on your tooth enamel can all arise from a misaligned bite. Invisalign™ will effectively address each one of these issues, coincidentally increasing the likelihood of overall improved oral health, and the added benefit of a boost of confidence that goes along with a great smile.

What patients are saying about Smile Savers Dentistry

"Have been coming to Smile Savers for a few years. Never have any problems. They are always flexible with scheduling and if there are conflicts, they get resolved with little or no effort. The invisalign program has been great! My lower jaw grew after I had braces as a youth, so I was left with overlapped teeth in the front. Today my teeth are straight and lined up very well. I have to thank Dr. Stewart and his great staff for all the courteous, prompt and wonderful service they have provided for both myself and my wife. I would recommend Smile Savers to anyone who wants a professional and knowledgeable experience."

"I have loved my experience so far at the Smile Savers dentistry so far. I came in to see Dr. Stewart about fixing my smile. At the time of my initial visit, I had little knowledge about Invisalign, but Dr. Stewart and CJ really took the time to explain the whole process to me, and made me feel comfortable about the journey I was about to embark on. I am a few weeks away from completing my Invisalign process, and I have already seen a lot of improvement. I’m so happy I chose to come to Smile Savers Dentistry for my Invisalign. All of the staff here have made me feel really comfortable."
- Nancin G.
★★★★★
"Ever since being refered to Smile Savers Dentistry from a co-worker, I have been surprised by the level of enthusiasm and truth I receive from everyone. I feel like dentists I’ve been to in the past have not been as honest about my teeth. Not only have I gotten better care but while sitting through the Invisalign process I have had many iterations constantly trying to make my teeth the best possible. The staff is always friendly and knows me by name. I appreciate their attentiveness and care."

Learn All About Invisalign™  - Columbia, MD

Invisalign™ is a teeth alignment system using transparent, removable, and comfortable aligners to straighten and correctly position your teeth. The benefit of being completely transparent and nearly invisible (hence the name), brings about the happy situation wherein while your new, straighter smile will be noticed by everyone around you, your aligners won’t be. Also, because Invisalign™ is able to be removed (unlike traditional braces, of course), it won’t interrupt your regular eating and oral hygiene habits. However, the aligners are only removed to eat, drink, brush and floss. They’re also very comfortable compared with traditional braces, and cause only very little irritation while you’re going through treatment.

The aligners are made using 3-D computer generated imaging. This type of modeling is very effective in creating beautiful, natural smiles. Using this process, you also get the amazingly unique experience of watching how your teeth and smile will change over the course of the treatment. Invisalign™  will not only straighten teeth much faster, but also requires much fewer office visits than metal braces. Invisalign™ aligners gradually and gently move your teeth, little by little, and are switched out every couple of weeks for the next set, until the treatment is complete, and the final position is achieved. We also offer Invisalign™ Teen here at Smile Savers Dentistry, which is for the treatment of our adolescent patients.

This whole procedure is made even easier, here at Dr. Stewart’s office, with the use of an iTero Element Intraoral Scanner. It’s a state-of-the-art digital scanning technology, which allows us to take extremely accurate digital, three-dimensional images of your teeth. Taking these 3-D scans eliminates the need for older, messier methods of dental modeling (dental impressions), which are less accurate anyway.

The Benefits of Invisalign™

Invisalign™ services clearly offer many distinct advantages over the traditional metal braces. They’re more comfortable, allow for better oral hygiene, and require much less treatment time in order to achieve that beautiful smile that you want. Let’s break down some of these benefits a bit:

  • Aesthetics- Invisalign™ braces are, well...mostly invisible.

Traditional metal braces stand out, whereas these Invisalign™ clear aligners are hardly noticeable.

  • Level of Comfort- Invisalign™ aligners are removable, when needed.

Traditional metal braces are bonded to your teeth, and can only professionally be removed. These removable aligners are able to be taken off for brief times in order to take care of oral hygiene, or to eat and drink.

  • Length of Treatment- Invisalign™ will straighten your teeth faster.

Orthodontic services like traditional metal braces can take as long as up to 5 years to complete treatment and achieve proper alignment. An Invisalign™ orthodontic treatment plan takes a fraction of the time (about a year to a year and a half) to do the same job.

  • Oral Health- Invisalign™ allows for better oral hygiene.

Metal braces can cause abrasions inside your mouth or on your gums, and can sometimes even puncture this soft tissue. These clear aligners are smooth, comfortable, and do not have metal wires and pieces protruding from the teeth. Also, because they are removable, you will have an easier time cleaning your teeth and gums, helping to prevent gum disease and cavities, where wearing metal braces may even contribute to their cause.

  • Treatment Transparency- The whole Invisalign™ treatment course is observable on the computer.

As mentioned above, with computer modeling you will be able to see how your crooked teeth will change, even before the process is begun. You’ll know what to expect out of the treatment, and how long the treatment will take. Traditional metal braces can be somewhat trial-and-error.

Frequently Asked Questions about Invisalign

  • What is the difference between Invisalign braces and conventional braces?

Invisalign straightens teeth using clear, removable aligners. They are almost invisible. This is an alternative to metal braces for adults and young adults who wish to straighten their teeth without wearing metal braces.

  • What are the advantages of completing my Invisalign Treatment?

Invisalign offers many advantages. Invisalign is more attractive than traditional braces.

The teeth are fitted so tightly that the splints are virtually undetectable. The patient's look can be maintained much more easily throughout the treatment.

With Invisalign aligners, you can remove them so that you don't have to avoid certain foods like with traditional braces. You can eat whatever you want without having to worry. Metal braces make it hard to floss correctly, which could lead to cavities. You can brush and floss as normal with Invisalign.

Invisalign is also comfortable to wear. The aligners fit comfortably and securely, so you don't have to worry about them falling off your teeth or irritating them.

Invisalign also is fast and efficient. Invisalign straightens your teeth faster than traditional braces.

  • How long does Invisalign take compared to braces?

Invisalign braces can be faster than traditional braces for most patients.

You can continue the treatment even if your appointment is missed because you can switch trays at home. This does not stop the movement of your teeth.

  • Is Invisalign uncomfortable?

Because they put less pressure on your teeth, Invisalign braces can be less painful than traditional braces.

The wires and brackets on braces can cause irritation to your lips and cheeks. It can be painful when you play sports that involve high contact, especially if your mouth is smacked.

Invisalign braces are not only more attractive, but they're also more comfortable. The smooth plastic material doesn't irritate the gums and cheeks like metal braces. Aligners are much more comfortable to wear throughout the day.

  • How long does Invisalign take?

Depending on the complexity of your case, you could complete your treatment in 6 months. Results should be visible within a couple of weeks.

  • What can I expect at my Invisalign appointment?

Now let's talk about the process. After your initial consultations we will perform a series of X-rays to establish your baseline dental health. We will also perform a digital scanning during your first consultation. This eliminates the need for traditional impressions and increases accuracy of your treatment. Invisalign creates a personalized treatment plan after receiving your scan. Our team will design a set of aligners specifically for you.

The aligners must be worn for at least 20 hours a day. They are changed every two to three weeks, depending on your plan and progress. Each set of aligners moves your teeth gently and gradually into the correct positions, according to your plan. You can visit our office four to six times a week to track the progress of your smile.

  • What is the material used in Invisalign trays?

The Invisalign tray consists of flexible plastic material, specifically thermoplastic created and patented exclusively for the Invisalign treatment.

  • Do I need to wear my Invisalign tray all night?

When you sleep is the best time to wear a tray!

  • What can I do to prevent myself from receiving Invisalign treatment?

I have nothing in mind but I do want to emphasize that Invisalign only works when you commit and are dedicated to the process. If aligners are not worn according to the schedule prescribed, patients may experience longer treatment times or less effective treatments.

  • Can Invisalign fix crossbite?

    Yes!

  • Is Invisalign painful?

Aligners, which are made from smooth plastic, do not irritate the gums or cheeks like metal braces. Aligners are more comfortable to wear throughout the day.

  • Do most dental plans cover Invisalign?

Invisalign braces are covered by most dental insurance plans in the same way as traditional braces. Invisalign is sometimes covered by insurance companies as a dollar amount or a percentage. Our treatment coordinator can give you a breakdown of the insurance coverage.

  • Does Medicaid cover Invisalign?

Medicaid is a government-subsidized health insurance program that offers coverage at low or no cost. It doesn't cover everything in healthcare, like many other programs.

  • What can I expect to pay if I begin my Invisalign today?

Costs for Invisalign vary depending on the severity of your case. The severity of your case will determine the cost. A personal consultation with Dr. Patel is the best way to answer this question. We will always help you to schedule a consultation according to your schedule. Call us on (410). 220-6883

  • How can I schedule an appointment to see if I am a candidate for Invisalign treatment?
